Deliverance, Healing, and Spirit Miracles are a core function of DEREKH religion that was granted by God through His Son, Isho Hamashiach. Isho gave us spirit power with which to heal, deliver and perform miracles.
1) INTRODUCTION
Deliverance is a spiritual service to protect or free believers from bondage by witchcraft spells, cure people of biological disease, and command physical reality to change to serve the interests of human beings. Prayers to God had been practiced since the days of Abraham, and God always responded favourably to those people who BELIEVED in Him and HEEDED His commandments. Humanity was however put under a curse from the sin of Adam and Eve at Eden when they hate fruits of the forbidden tree and were cursed by God. God finally decided to send the Redeemer to reconcile Himself with us through the blood of His only Son, Isho, at Golgotha, Jerusalem. Isho died and was buried but was raised to life by God on the third night so that he can take his place as our Shepherd and Eternal High Priest
The command that Isho, Lord and Saviour, issued to apostles, before ascension to heaven was that they should not leave Jerusalem to start evangelisation until they receive the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:4), adding that when the Spirit comes upon them, they will be filled with power, and they will be witnesses for him in Jerusalem, all Judea, Samaria. and to the ends of the Earth (Acts 1:8).
“You know about Jesus of Nazareth, and how God poured out on him the Holy Spirit and power. He went everywhere doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, for God was with him” (Acts 10:38)
God does all the Healing, Deliverance, and Miracles but only through His Son, Isho Hamashiach. So we plead to God in the name of Isho Hamashiach.
AFRICAN ORTHODOX DEREKH houses of worship will be known as Synagogues and ALL priests will be of one level, and will be called Shamashim (Servants). Isho is the Pastor in all Synagogues.
2) DEREKH SIGNATURE SERVICE
Spirit power, Healing, Deliverance and Miracles are critical components of AFRICAN DEREKH religion and worship practice. DEREKH religion cannot exist anywhere without the power of God through the Spirit. Healing and Deliverance shall therefore define AFRICAN DEREKH in every Synagogue.
“Go through the whole world and preach the gospel to all mankind. Whoever believes will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned. Believers will be given power to perform miracles: –
- they will drive out demons in my name,
- they will speak in strange tongues,
- if they pick up snakes or drink any poison, they will not be harmed,
- they will place their hands on sick people, who will get well.” (Mk 16:15-18)
Note also that the power to perform spirit miracles are given to ALL believers, not just Shamashim. All who believe in God and the Son shall have spirit power upon them automatically. When you believe in God, you depend on Him to facilitate you and save you.
European Christianity and Eastern Orthodox churches withdrew from offering this service which more crisply, and most visibly, demonstrates God’s power and, instead they went for meaningless Greek theology. Ethiopian Orthodox has Deliverance service in all its synagogues. DEREKH is a spiritual war between Isho Hamashiach and Satan and ungodly gods, and stands on full Emonah in God and His Son. European Christianity run away from Emonah and turned to reason and theology but, this was ignorance and unbelief. Human reason cannot achieve anything spiritual and is both nonsensical and cowardly. Our greatest armour is Emonah, and our greatest weapon is Deep Prayer and Spiritual Power.
“For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of words but of power” (1 Cor 4:20)
3) RUACH HA-KODESH
Ruach Ha-Kodesh (Holy Spirit) is the power that fulfils all God’s commands including those of Healing and Deliverance. He is also a granter of Spirit Gifts/ Charismas/ Abilities that Shamashim and all believers use, or can use, to cure, deliver and perform miracles. The Ruach Ha-Kodesh is however unleashed by our faith in the Son of God, Isho Ha-Mashiach. Our faith is demonstrated by using his name in our prayers and spiritual commands.
4) TOOL OF EVANGELISATION
During Isho’s ministry in Israel, his main method of evangelisation was through Deliverance and Healing of very many people who were afflicted by demons and disease. (Mt 4:23-25), (Mk 3:1-6), (Mk 5: 6-13), (Mk 5:25-30), (Mt 15:21-28), (Mk 7:31-37), (Mk 9:19-22), (Lk 6:17-19), (Lk 13:10-13), (Lk 17:11-19). Deliverance and healing were the crowd-puller that gave him big congregations to preach to.
Similarly, after accession, the disciples set out to preach Derekh faith in Israel and beyond, and the biggest method they employed was that of Deliverance and Healing.
“and my teaching and message were not delivered with skilful words of human wisdom, but with convincing proof of the power of God’s Spirit. Your faith then does not rest on human wisdom but on God’s power. (1 Cor 2:4-5)
“The disciples went and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and proved that their preaching was true by the miracles that were
performed. (Mk 16:20)
We are therefore prohibited from preaching the gospel by scripture only and we are firmly instructed to use Ruach -Ha-Kodesh power of Healing and Deliverance, and this power is obtained only through total Emonah (faith) and the name of Isho Hamashiach.
Healing and Deliverance are therefore signature services that define Isho’s continuing ministry on earth and, AFRICAN ORTHODOX DEREKH must offer it as an institution, and offer it locally, so that it is available everywhere and people in need of it don’t have to travel further than their local Synagogue. This service must also be offered for FREE to ALL who approach the Synagogue for it without regard to sin, crime, social deviance, religion, gender, income, or race. It is God who performs the Healing and Deliverance through His only Son, Isho Hamashiach, and AFRICAN ORTHODOX DEREKH is just a tool owned and managed by the Hamashiach himself. The human Shamashim are just there to communicate with people on behalf of the Heavenly powers. In all situations, Shamashim must work as a team and must also invite Edah (congregation) to participate.
5) ISHO HAMASHIACH IS THE DELIVERER
By calling his name, we confess that the Good Shepherd, Isho Hamashiach, is still with us here on earth, and is shepherding God’s sheep through his auxiliary staff who are the Shamashim (servants). God’s healing power is delivered by Isho Hamashiach, through the Holy Spirit. No one is stronger than God, and no one is more willing to help than God also. (1 Pet 5:6-7), (Ps 37:5), (Isa 55:6). (Jer 17:5-6). Isho instructs his disciples on how they should go about with evangelisation and says; –
“Go and preach, ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is near’. Heal the sick, bring the dead back to life, heal those who suffer from dreaded diseases and drive out demons. You have received without paying, so give without being paid. (Mt 10:7-8)
Isho is telling his disciples not to preach by words only, and that they MUST simultaneously, unleash the power of God through healing, deliverance and great miracles. The power of God is unleashed by Emonah and the mighty name of Isho Hamashiach. On top of that, the disciples must offer their services for free! Africans must step back from the stupidity of going to African witches, fortune tellers, and ‘medicine men’ who are supported by Satan and evil power, whatever problem they shall have because the Sovereign LORD, Yahweh, is a lot stronger than the strongest African deities that power African witchcraft, and God has delegated His power to Isho. God’s healing and deliverance in the Synagogue is also free, while Africans are paying money or animals to witches for their evil and ineffective spiritual healing services. Isho is a mighty God, so depend steadfastly on him.
For the full content of divine nature lives in Christ, in his humanity, and you have been given full life in union with him. He is supreme over every spiritual ruler and authority. (Col 2:9)
4) PHYSICAL TOOLS OF DELIVERANCE
Many private churches throughout Sub Saharan Africa have become known for dispensing a range of physical objects to believers for purposes of Healing and Deliverance. This has raised concern from some Derekhs who see these objects as tools of witchcraft rather than of the Holy Spirit. These concerns are well founded because private churches have looked to be fake churches, and veiled commercial entities rather than spiritual agents of the Hamashiach, and are more about money and self-elevation than about God’s work and spiritual service.
Physical tools have however clear Mikra (biblical) foundations having been used by many prophets including Moshe and Isho as is evidenced by (Exo 8:16), (Exo 15:25), (2 Kgs 2:20-12), (Jn 9:6-7), (Acts 19:11-12), and (Jas 5:14). Anointing oil was used extensively before the arrival of Isho to empower and bring the Holy Spirit to chosen people (1 Sam 16:12-13), (Isa 60:1). Tools of healing and deliverance have included water, oil, salt, honey, fruits, wood, stick, cloth pieces, soil, and mud. Isho even used his own saliva to make mud which he then rubbed in the eyes of a man who was blind from birth and told him thereafter to go and wash his eyes in river Siloam. (Jn 9:6-7)
AFRICAN DEREKH Shamashim must therefore regularly use tools as well, including Olive Oil and Water, and they must be given out for free. Oil and Water to be used for deliverance and healing shall be anointed by joint prayer of the entire congregation, including several Shamashim. Bread and wine are to commemorate the last supper are also spiritual tools of Healing and Deliverance.
5) SATAN AND SMALL GODS
AFRICAN DEREKHs must remain aware, however, that Satan, gods, witches, and astrologers have significant spirit power in their hands as well, and can deploy it disastrously to harm, torture, and destroy lives and destinies of millions of people, but can also sometimes perform very big positive feats for people who submit to them, instead of the Supreme Spirit, The Sovereign LORD, Yahweh, God of Abraham. Isho himself was once accused of using the power of Beelzebul, the chief of the demons, to drive demons out (Lk 11:14-15). Isho dismissed this claim as nonsensical, but we know that in Sub Saharan Africa, satanic and occult power was, and still is, the main player of the spiritual world. African people in trouble always rush to Satan, ungodly gods, witches, and fortune tellers and not to their Beit Knesset and God of Israel. In fact, many Africans have walked back from DEREKH and to African gods, deities and ancestor spirits in the last 60 years. In many parts of Africa, Western DEREKH has been reduced to mere church buildings.
God instructs Moshe and Aaron (Exo 7:8-13) to meet Pharaoh, King of Egypt, and demonstrate their spiritual power by throwing the special stick down in front of the King and the stick will turn into a live snake. Moshe and Aaron did exactly that, but the King was able to call his “wisemen and magicians” and these did the same thing by throwing down their sticks as well, and they too tuned into live snakes. This shows the awful power these master witches and magicians of the Pharaoh had with them.
At some point, the God of Israel had abandoned King Saul of Israel, and Saul was facing an imminent invasion by his bitter enemies, the Philistines, (1 Sam 28:3-20). He had recently abolished all forms of witchcraft and mediumship in Israel but was now in a bad fix, fighting both for his throne and his life. He therefore decided to break his own law and personally visit the woman medium at night disguised as a normal citizen. He asked the medium to call up the spirit of prophet Samwel who had recently died. The woman medium called on her gods to come alive, whereupon she immediately established that her visitor was King Saul of Israel. Using spirit power of small gods, the woman was able to immediately identify her visitor as the King of Israel, and was able also to call the spirit of prophet Samwel and conduct a live conversation with him even though Prophet Samwel was dead. This showed the immense dark power that some witches have in their hands.
Some ‘wisemen’ from the East (Mt 2:1-12) were able to see the star (natural power) of baby Isho immediately upon his birth in Bethlehem and recognised him immediately as the King of Jews. They gathered all sorts of gifts to come and greet the baby King. These ‘wisemen’ were basically powerful witches and astrologers who were able to see the star of a baby born many kilometres away from them. This type of secret power and expertise exists in Sub Saharan Africa as well but is Satanic and is to be avoided by all ethical people who believe in God. To believe in God, Yahweh, is to depend only on Him.
Honour the LORD, your God, worship only him and make your promises in his name alone. Do not worship other gods, any of the gods of the peoples around you. If you do worship other gods, the LORD’s anger will come against you like fire and will destroy you completely, because the LORD your God, who is present with you, tolerates no rivals. (Deu 6:14-15)
We see here the Holy Mikra itself admitting the existence of ‘other gods’ that we call occult powers and witchcraft in DEREKH religion. These other gods are very powerful as well but are not as powerful as The Sovereign LORD. If they were not powerful, scripture wouldn’t call them ‘rivals’ of God.
We note also that an angel sent by God to prophet Daniel was blocked by the angel prince of Persia. (Dan 10:12-14)
Then he said ‘Daniel’, don’t be afraid, God has heard your prayers ever since the first day you decided to humble yourself in order to attain understanding. I have come in answer to your prayer. The Angel prince of the kingdom of Persia opposed me for 21 days. Then Michael, one of the Chief Angels (of God) came to help me because I had been left there alone in Persia. (Dan 10:12-14)
The angel prince of Persia was serving another god, not the God of Israel, and this is why he blocked the angel of God, but we note also that this angel of Persia was so very powerful that he held captive the angel of the Sovereign LORD, Yahweh, for 21 days. This is shocking to us but proves the existence of other powerful gods.
King Ahaziah of Israel fell off the balcony of his palace and was badly injured. He sent his assistants to consult Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron. The God of Israel, Yahweh, immediately noticed, and sent Prophet Elijah to tell the King’s Assistants who were going to consult the god of Ekron to go back and tell King Ahaziah ‘Why are you consulting the god of Ekron, Is it because there is no God in Israel? (2 Kgs 1:1-16). This episode also tells us there are very many gods.
Isho himself in his days said, ‘From the time John preached his message, until this very day, the Kingdom of heaven has suffered violent attacks, and violent men try to seize it.’ (Mt 11:12), The Kingdom of heaven is not physical, so Isho was not referring to the orgy of endless human wars in different parts of the world. He was addressing the spirit world where the Supreme God lives, and when he says, ‘violent men’, he really means these other powerful gods, who are the only entities that can have both the audacity and the capacity to fight God himself in heaven.
The message is clear, however, that once a person joins Derekh by tevilah, he becomes a spiritual Jew, a descendant of Abraham by Emonah, and is bound by (Deu 6:14-15) as well, which says if you go to other gods, Yahweh will destroy you. This is therefore a serious matter because many Africans are cosmetic Derekhs who are on the side of gods, witches, astrologers, and ‘medicine men’. They will simply be punished by God himself later in their lives, unless they repent and atone.
As a Derekh, look for your earthly fortunes from God the Father, by steadfastly relying on Him alone. God cures and facilitates all those who believe and heed Him. He sent his only Son to die and become the sacrificial lamb of God so as to equip us with spiritual power to defend ourselves from satanic forces and demons through Emonah and power tefillah (prayers).
6) AFRICAN WITCHCRAFT
Black Africa is dominated by witchcraft mostly because it is a very backward nation, both intellectually and spiritually. All nations had witchcraft in the distant past, but they eliminated it, mostly by social war a thousand years ago. As society develops and civilises, people become refined spiritually and shun lowly activities like those of witchcraft. African witchcraft was mostly owned by Bantu people and West Africans so that Khoisan brown people of Southern Africa, Nilotic/Sudanic people like the Maasai of East Africa had no witchcraft among them.
There is both weak or nuisance witchcraft which causes small harm, but there is also strong, and even very strong, witchcraft, which causes pain and anguish. African witchcraft has also traditionally been divided into two categories of ‘Shield Witchcraft’ and Hostile or ‘Attack Witchcraft’. Both types of witchcraft can be low level or high level. High level witchcraft can involve the use of human blood, human organs, or sacrifice of live human beings and therefore murder. Typically, witches steal children to offer them as sacrifices to the evil spirits to create stronger spells. Witches work both ways; they create spells but can also undo spells created by other witches depending on the spirit power that is upon them. They can demand human sacrifices to create a strong spell that will heavily punish the intended victim and be difficult to undo, but they can also demand human sacrifice to undo a spell that they view as very strong and difficult to undo.
Shield Witchcraft is the use of Satan and small gods spiritual power to defend yourself against witchcraft attacks, or to seek earthly success in enterprise, trade, mining, politics, or employment. This type of witchcraft involves amulets, bracelets and other spirit powered objects which people wear openly or secretly to defend themselves or to influence nature. Shield witchcraft is also used to protect property especially physical goods like farm produce or domestic assets so that any person who steals it and takes it away, will fail to put it down once he arrives at his home. Sometimes he may also fail to leave the place where he stole so that he is glued there until he is freed by the property owner the next day. Shield witchcraft has also been extensively used in marital relations whereby a husband applies witchcraft on his wife such that any man who fornicates with her will not get out of her and will be stuck inside there. In some tribes, wives also traditionally used witchcraft on their husbands to hypnotise them and make them dull and obedient to them, or so that their male organs cannot get an erection outside the home.
Attack witchcraft is much more vicious as it sets out to bring harm like disease, ailment, total impotency, intellectual dullness, psychological collapse, economic stunting, poverty, barrenness, alcohol addiction, solitary life without wife or husband, madness, serious biological disease, outright death, and wider pain or shame. It can also be used to kill or hijack and confine people who are believed to be dead and buried but are still alive and confined somewhere. Witches can also create inheritable spells, or curses, which go from parent to child to grandchild unless it is detected and destroyed. Some African witches have spirit power upon them to instantly detect the natural abilities or destinies of people, babies, even embryos, so as to destroy or steal stars of bright or blessed people or babies. The ‘wisemen from the East who saw the star (destiny) of baby Isho immediately after he was born were in this category. They have the spirit power to see what the world does not see, and to engineer the lives of people, any way they like. This extreme evil power is attracting some Africans to desert DEREKH religion and deal exclusively with small gods and evil witches, but as already noted, there will be a day of painful chastisement, because the Sovereign LORD, God, is the King of Heaven and earth, and is a God who tolerates no rivals.
All Derekhs need to be aware, therefore, that there is witchcraft, and to take pre-emptive and preventive measures to defend themselves and their children. The biggest defence is true Emonah, staying clear of sin, and constant tefillah. We must observe Apostle Pauls guidance to put on ‘The Whole Armour of God’ (Efe 6:10-18). We are all put right with God through Isho (Rom 2:21-26) and we need therefore to be very close with Isho by fulfilling scripture and repeatedly invoking his name from deep within us. We must not wait to be attacked by witchcraft; we must fight to remain with God so that witchcraft attacks against us will fail. Never consult witches for any problem. Go to hospital or to the Beit Knesset for Healing and Deliverance
Some Europeans dismiss witchcraft as superstition or unfounded fears of people but as we have noted here, the Holy Mikra itself is narrating several episodes of witchcraft. The Torah also explicitly prohibits Israelites from practicing witchcraft and lists a number of witchcraft practices. It is therefore foolish to deny the existence of witchcraft. Of course, witchcraft can be eliminated, like it was done in Europe and Arabia many centuries ago.
7) SPIRITUAL WAR
Deliverance and Healing are achieved through a Spiritual War whereby DEREKH believers invoke the name of Isho Ha-Mashiach to call the Ruach Ha-Kodesh to come to their rescue fight off and and expel evil spirits or reverse disease, ailments and infirmity. Everything is possible under this service provided the Believer and the Shamashim both BELIEVE in Spirit miracles. The major weakness preventing Healing and Deliverance in Synagogues is the infancy or paleness of our EMONAH, because in Deliverance and Healing, Emonah is everything. The guidance of Apostle Paul here below should be carefully studied and implemented.
“Finally build up your strength in union with the Lord and by means of his mighty power. Put on all the armour that God gives you, so that you will be able to stand up against the Devil’s evil tricks. For we are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this dark age. So put on God’s armour now! Then when the evil day comes, you will be able to resist the enemy’s attacks; and after fighting to the end, you will still hold your ground.
So, stand ready, with truth as a belt tight around your waist, with righteousness as your breastplate. and as your shoes your readiness to announce the Good News of peace. At all times carry faith as a shield; for with it you will be able to put out all the burning arrows shot by the Evil One. And accept salvation as a helmet, and the word of God as the sword which the Spirit gives you. Do all this in prayer, asking for God’s help.” (Eph 6:10-18).
Notice that Paul is instructing us to wage spiritual war in Tefillah (prayer). There is normal tefillah of praise and gratitude to God the Father, but there is also ‘power tefillah’ that commands reality to change in the name of Isho Hamashiach. You cannot be a DEREKH if you don’t tefillah twice to thrice daily in your home to strengthen yourself. Deliverance and Healing may be performed at the Synagogue, but will demand 15 minutes of deep, consciousness level prayer twice a day at home.
8) DEREKH ERETZ
DEREKH ERETZ means Heeding God, Spiritual Deepening, Correct Conduct, Dignified Behaviour, Social Refinement, Moral Uprightness, Integrity, or truly walking on the PAVED PATH, The Way of the LORD. In Derekh Eretz, we banish cultural crudity, sin, and ungodliness from us and rise to the high standard that God, The Father, demands and expects from us. As God’s sheep we also heed our only Shepperd, Isho Hamashiach, Lord and Saviour. In normal language, Derekh Eretz can be described as Spiritual Ethics. The two pillars of Derekh Eretz are the two biggest commandments below.
- The Lord our God is the only LORD. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. (Deu 6:4-5), (Mk 12:30)
- Love your neighbour as you love yourself (Lev 19:18), (Mk 12:31)
When you do, you are in Derekh Eretz, but most of us Africans are very much outside of scripture, and we are waiting for a crisis in our life to heed God.
DEREKH religion, from the garden of Eden to Mt Sinai, to Mt. Zion, to Golgotha; from Adam to Senior Prophet Moshe, to The Hamashiach or ‘The second Adam (1 Cor 15:45-49)”, has never been just about heaven. From the Torah to the Gospel, Derekh has always been, and will always be, foremost, about God’s unprecedented love to humanity, and His desire and willingness therefore, to offer protection, facilitation and salvation to compliant mankind in this worldly life. This is God’s original grand plan that He has never revised. He remains faithful, steadfast and eager to meet his side of the covenant (Lam 3:31-33) if only humankind can meet its side as well. God’s facilitation of earthly life started with Adam (Gen 2-5-17) and continued to Abraham (Gen 15) and his descendants, Isaack, Jacob and the nation of Israel.
God is Goodness, Happiness, Good Health, Long Life, Abundance, and Achievement at varying levels of spiritual gifts or destinies. The opposite of this is caused by the devil, but the devil can cause this opposite because he is allowed by man to do so. The devil is the master seducer as was the case with the serpent and Eve (Gen 3). He tempts weak and unbelieving people into all sorts of excesses and stupidity, fronting comfort, political power, sexual thrill, and limitless wealth. Once a person moves to the side of Satan and other gods, however, he loses God’s protection and life becomes a slippery slope of one disease after another, one nightmare after another, and a short painful life. Medical science can help with disease but is much inferior to God’s grace. Only God’s grace can uplift human life expectancy and bring down significantly the negative economy of hospitals and medical treatment.
Deliverance and Healing is the common phrase used in Western Christianity to describe God’s help in this life but it is not very accurate because it addresses only half of what is on offer. Deliverance and Healing are reactive and restorative while God’s primary offer to humankind is proactive, preventive and facilitative; designed to make deliverance and healing unnecessary. Derekh is about RECEIVING IN ADVANCE God’s facilitation, blessings, and favour to enable us live comfortable and richly provided lives.
8) CALLING ON ALL AFRICANS
AFRICAN ORTHODOX DEREKH is launched to take Healing, Deliverance and Spirit Miracles to every Synagogue. In Sub Saharan Africa, this is service is currently offered by Pentecostal private churches and there are tens of thousands of this man and wife, man and son churches. Some churches are even owned by women, and this is a big humiliation of the religion of God. DEREKH has been tuned into ancient African Traditional Religion (ATR) of Diviners, Spirit Mediums and Ancestor Worship. ATR spirit mediums were mostly women in some tribes and mostly men in some other tribes. Spirit Mediums were appointed by spirits themselves so there was no argument about their suitability.
The concept of private churches is, however, firmly rejected as irreligious and as desecration of DEREKH faith. Only American Christianity has private churches, but Africa must reject this humiliation of religion by making it a business. Some people are employing African witchcraft in their private churches. We need to set standards for DEREKH services, but we are calling on all Africans to revere God and respect His religion, DEREKH, by joining AFRICAN ORTHODOX DEREKH.
African private churches are also dominated by boisterous clergy who elevate themselves to Isho Ha-Mashiach himself. It is the responsibility of Africans in ALL countries of Sub-Saharan Africa to support the very big institution of AFRICAN ORTHODOX DEREKH which is an outcome of Holy Spirit revelation. This will make powerful Healing and Deliverance service available in every town from Cape Town to Free Town. Currently a few private churches have thousands of followers, but this is not how it is meant to be. It is God himself who is offering Healing and Deliverance, and once we turn to him, He will grant Holy Spirit healing power to many Shamashim everywhere so that we don’t have to go to private churches. Put your trust in God, and His Son, Ha-Mashiach, not in human preachers.
The LORD says, ‘I will condemn the person who turns away from me and puts his trust in man, in the strength of mortal man. (Jer 17:5)
SHALOM ALEKHEM
